Vieras Mies Tuli Taloon
2015–2019
This is the result of a series of conversations on the Finnish novel Vieras Mies Tuli Taloon. It involved three women: Aino, Marleen, and I.
Aino and Marleen are native Finnish speakers, and the videos mainly show them reading, translating, and narrating the novel for me, in a generous effort of transliteration across three different time zones and three different languages.
The book was originally written by Mika Waltari in 1937, and its title translates to “A Stranger Came Home.”
* Shown during 2019’s Artecámara section at ARTBO.
