Statement
I’m an artist and beekeeper. My practice centres non-human animals, artifacts, and landscapes as subjects that resist explanation and as images continuously produced by scientific disciplines. I engage the natural sciences as profoundly historicized fields, and I’m interested in the ways their production of knowledge fragments over time.
The work proceeds through writing and collecting—assembling specimens, pieces from scientific texts, marginal stories, and anecdotes overheard or misremembered into sculptures, video, and staged gestures. I tend to work with unstable and fragile materials because I believe this process of recombining information is a type of spell: an attempt to hold, temporarily, the continuous movement of things.
